Way Home From Vegas

Well, Randy and I are on our way home from Las Vegas. To say that we had fun would be an understatement. We had a blast!!

Next time we go, I think we'll go Monday through Thursday instead. We are not big "club" people and we are really not into the "club" scene and we really avoid large crowds. Our best dinner, however, was at a nightclub. We went to Tao on Sunday night which is at the Venetian. Randy's cousin and her husband joined us and I think they were a little skeptical at first too because of the nightclub atmosphere. As you walk through the doors and down the hall to get in there is one bathtub after another with floating rose petals and candles. Evidently, when everything is in full gear there are people in the tubs...but we were not there for that. The food was AMAZING. And the drinks were even better. We split a few entrees and a few appetizers and ended our meal splitting a huge fortune cookie that was filled with white chocolate mousse and chocolate mousse. There were "adult" fortunes inside for our entertainment. I cannot wait to go back to Vegas or out to NYC to hit Tao again.

Most of our trip was spent roaming around taking pictures, eating at really fabulous restaurants, relaxing and playing roulette at our hotel. We stayed at the Bellagio which was very nice. We also had dinners at Delmonico, Nobu and Joe's. We had really yummy drinks and appetizer type snacks at a lot of other great places too. We saw two shows -- Ka and Ron White. Ron White was absolutely hilarious and Ka was amazing. We had really good seats to both and it was worth the extra money to sit up close. There are far too many other good shows and good places to eat in Vegas to hit all of them in one trip, so we'll definitely have to go back.

The only thing that we missed back home was Olivia and Alexis. I'm glad we didn't take them with us because watching other mom's and dad's chase their little ones around casinos didn't look very appealing. But I cannot wait for them to be old enough to go on trips with us. And by old enough, I mean old enough to remember. We could take them with us now, but they won't remember -- at least Alexis surely won't -- and it would be a lot of work too. When I think about all the fun trips we'll take with them as they get older it makes me want to stop at the two children we already have. That way we don't have to wait for a third to become old enough to go! Plus, four fit in a hotel room just perfectly. :-) I just playing online (yes! the airplane has free wifi and it rocks!) and I already want to plan a trip for us to somewhere hot to lounge on the beach, somewhere freezing cold where we can ski and some of the favorite spots Randy and I have really enjoyed like Barcelona, Venice and Rome. At some point I'd also like to do a family trip to Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland and Thailand.

I better keep working if we are going to do all these trips. :-)

Pictures to follow!

  1. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed your well deserved vacation. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear more. I'm sure the girls missed you as much as you missed them. What's that saying 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'. We realize how much we appreciate and love each other when we don't get to see them every day. Glad you're home safely. Sorry the weather couldn't be better :(

  2. That's great that you got away for a short trip without the kids! Glad you had fun - sounds like Tao must be pretty crazy when it's at full nightclub action!
